Cashews from Côte d'Ivoire

Since 2017, Côte d'Ivoire has been one of the world’s leading producers of Cashew nuts. The Ivorian production represents a little more than a quarter of the world production and a little more than a third of the world supply of raw nuts. This makes the country a key player in the sector at a global level.

In 2020, the marketed production was around 840,000 tonnes and allowing Côte d'Ivoire to consolidate first place production status ahead of India, which has a volume of around 742,000 tonnes and Vietnam with a little more than 500,000 tons.

Unlike these two main competitors who process all of their nut production, Côte d'Ivoire has a local processing rate of less than 13%. However, in terms of volume of processed kernels, Côte d'Ivoire is ranked 4th in the world among processing countries.
